BY ROAD:

From Dublin City: All turnings listed below.

Take the N4 from city centre. This will turn into the M4. The toll is €2.60 for a car.The motorway eventually splits in two. DONT bare left for Galway- Bare right continuing on the N4. Follow the road all the way to Longford. You will encounter a roundabout. Take the FIRST EXIT into the town centre. You will pass a VW show room on your right hand side and then a LIDL supermarket. 100 metres later the road will narrow and turn to the left. This is now a one way street. Turn RIGHT at the end of the street. You are now on the main street. continue straight until you see the LONGFORD ARMS HOTEL on your left. Turn LEFT HERE The road is now called the N5. Follow the main road all the way to STROKESTOWN. At the roundabout take your FIRST exit. Continue all the way to the 'lovely' town of BALLAGHDEREEN. In the centre of the town you will need turn RIGHT to follow the N5. Continue straight all the way to CASTLEBAR. At the first roundabout take the SECOND exit. At the next roundabout again take the SECOND exit. At the next roundabout again take the SECOND exit. (This is where you will see the first road sign to Achill.) You will then pass McDonalds on your left. At the McDonalds roundabout Take the FIRST exit (Straight through). IF YOU NEED TO GO TO TESCO,TAKE THE SECOND EXIT,TESCO WILL NOW BE ON YOUR LEFT. For Achill turn LEFT at the traffic lights. The roads will now become bumpy, narrow and windy with poor signage and road markings for approx 60klms. Please drive with care. This section of the journey is the most difficult. Please allow at least an hour. The next town is NEWPORT.Turn RIGHT at the T-junction (The best Sausages,bacon and steaks in the country should be bought in Kelly's butchers here on the left hand side of the main st.) Follow the road all the way to ACHILL. Phone us when you get to the bridge and we will guide you in from there.

From Dublin Airport:

When you leave the airport site Follow the roads for City/M50 motorway. You will reach a large roundabout at the top of a hill. Take the SECOND exit M1/M50 SOUTH. Stay in the LEFT LANE FOR M50 SOUTH . You will come up a slip road and reach another roundabout. Take the THIRD exit M50 South. Continue to toll plaza it is €1.90 for a car. just after the the toll plaza take the NEXT EXIT FOR N4. This is only a few hundred metres after the toll plaza. Take the THIRD exit for N4 West. Follow the directions above.
